Voice Menu Customization
January 4th, 2009 by David | 6,478 viewsThis thread shows off a neat customization tool: Adding new radial voice menus to your game. Currently when playing as a survivor you have 2 voice menus (bound to z and x). By editing a single config file, it’s possible to edit these menus or even add more (up to a total of 4, apparently). What’s more, you’re not limited to voice commands. Any console command can be bound to the entries on the menu. You can even string a whole bunch together if you desire.
In keeping with the theme of this site, I created my own voice menu specially for Francis:

where did you find the hate commands, all i have managed to get are the van, ayndrand, subways.
could ya help me out with all the others. or just give me the script for that and ill get it out of that
The voice command screenshot with the hate text is actually a bit of a cop out… It has the correct text, but when you click them nothing happens. As far as I’m aware there’s no way to get a survivor to say character-specific dialog on command (like all the ‘I hate’ stuff, or the banter they sometimes have). If you’re after the sound files themselves, they’re all called ‘world.wav’. I basically listened to all the clips and found the ones I wanted. If you like, I can email you the list that I have (it’s a bit long to post here in the comments).

Heres personally the ones i found
“I hate vans” – vocalize airport04_vana
“I hate Ayn Rand” – vocalize AynRandResponse
“I hate subways” – vocalize IntroHospital02
I went through the scripts and these are the only ones i managed to pull out properly
Been trying to find all the “I hate X” vocalize commands but ain’t really had much luck so far, found some bits referencing VCDs (whatever the hell they are) going by what Hawaiian_spawn posted, just couldn’t get anything fuctional outta it. Any chance you could e-mail me the list of the working ones you’ve found Boss?
Hey, I’ve been desperately trying to find the following – the way to specifically vocalize Louis’ “Riflerange_02.wav” file.
Do you by any chance know what I should be typing in? Like with Francis, it’s not what the soundfile itself is called :S.
If you don’t know, then might I ask what your method for looking through the script to find those lines of Francis’ is? Thanks! :]
A lot of it is guesswork, I’m afraid. There doesn’t seem to be any consistent way of finding the command to say any specific sound file. Sorry
IF possible, could you email me the list of which sound files are Francis’ “I hate X” ?
Does anybody know the name of the file where Francis says “You know what I don’t hate? I don’t hate vests.”
Can some one help me find the command for francies.
